  • For Homeowners & Subcontractors: Contact details (provided by the Inspector) and access logs (IP addresses) to ensure secure portal entry.
2. How We Use Your Data
  • To Generate Reports: Processing the data you input to create PDF reports and live web links.
  • To Facilitate Rectification: Sharing defect photos and status updates between the Inspector, Developer, Subcontractor, and Homeowner.
  • To Manage Quotas: Tracking case credit usage associated with your account.
  • Service Improvements: Using anonymized data to improve our “7-year-old” industrial engine and app performance.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your data. Data is only shared with authorized parties involved in a specific case:

  • Subcontractors: See defect photos and property addresses to perform repairs.
  • Homeowners: Access their specific property’s “Before & After” photos and status updates.
  • Developers: Oversight of the entire project’s progress.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
4. Data Security

As an industrial-grade platform, we implement robust security measures:

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between the app, the web portal, and our servers is encrypted (SSL/TLS).
  • Secure Access: Homeowner and Subcontractor links are protected by unique, system-generated passwords.
  • Storage: Data is stored on secure cloud servers with restricted access.
5. Data Integrity & "Locked" Reports

Once an inspector submits a report, the data is locked to prevent tampering. This ensures the Privacy and Integrity of the record for all parties. Homeowners can view this data via their mobile-friendly link but cannot alter the inspector’s original findings.

6. Image & Camera Permissions

The DeFix Mobile App requires access to your device’s camera and photo gallery to capture and upload defect items. These photos are only uploaded to the specific case you are working on.

7. Data Retention
  • Active Accounts: We retain your inspection data as long as your account is active.
  • Closed Cases: Archived cases are stored for [Insert Period, e.g., 7 years] to assist with warranty claims and historical records, after which they may be deleted.
